Performance Training for the Rehabilitation Professional
This 1-day course is designed to enhance participant’s application of exercises in both rehabilitation
and performance training. Primarily a lab-based course, clinicians will learn both scientific and clinical
perspectives on the management of individuals returning to physical activity, recreational sport, and elite athletics across the lifespan. Emphasis will be on the application of regional interdependence and motor learning strategies such as visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive training. In addition, concepts to reduce the risk of injury as well as bridge the gap between end-stage rehabilitation and performance training while confidently discharge an individual to unrestricted activity/sport will be integrated into clinical reasoning case scenarios.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Apply a system to reduce risk of re-injury, improve physical performance, and return an athlete effectively and efficiently to activity or sport
- Identify the purpose of screening and assessment and select, implement, and interpret appropriate measures during return to activity/sport decision making.
- Understand, design, and implement methods of exercise prescription and program design to correct movement and physical performance dysfunction by addressing mobility, stability/ motor control as well as strength, power, agility, speed, and energy system development.
- Design, implement, and interpret a comprehensive evidence based return to activity/sport assessment to aid in the management and clinical-decision making.

- Cancellations received within 6 weeks of the start date will be fully refunded
- Cancellations received between 3 and 6 weeks prior to the course begins will be refunded 75% of the payment.
- Cancellations received within 3 weeks prior to the course begins will be refunded 50% of payment.
- No refunds will be issued after the course begins.
